In 2018, Ireland's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 3.7% compared to 2017, reaching 64,473.

Ireland ranks 15th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 17.8% (from 78,431 in 2013).
