Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2023, Ireland's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 17.1% compared to 2022, reaching 15.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 24.6%.

Ireland ranks 25th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 39.3% (from 10.9% in 2018).
