Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2021, Ireland's share of energy from renewable sources decreased by 54.4% compared to 2020, reaching 4.6%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 9.1%.

Ireland ranks 26th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 9.9% (from 5.2% in 2016).
