Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2024, Italy's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 4.5% compared to 2023, reaching 40.7%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 47.5%.

Italy ranks 16th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 16.3% (from 35.0% in 2019).
