In 2017, Latvia's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 17.8% compared to 2016, reaching 5,231.

Latvia ranks 20th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 435.4% (from 977 in 2012).
