In 2017, Spain's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 8.7% compared to 2016, reaching 142,778.

Spain ranks 3rd out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 23.1% (from 185,704 in 2012).
