At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2024, Malta's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 3.2% compared to 2023, reaching 15.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 15.5%.

Malta ranks 12th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 5.6% (from 16.1% in 2019).
