In 2018, Malta's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 24.7% compared to 2017, reaching 5,109.

Malta ranks 26th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 27.8% (from 7,077 in 2013).
