Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2024, Malta's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 11.5% compared to 2023, reaching 17.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 25.2%.

Malta ranks 24th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 109.1% (from 8.2% in 2019).
