Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2024, Malta's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 5.6% compared to 2023, reaching 11.4%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 11.2%.

Malta ranks 9th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 27.5% (from 8.9% in 2019).
