Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2024, Portugal's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 28.4% compared to 2023, reaching 14.3%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 11.2%.

Portugal ranks 5th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 57.7% (from 9.1% in 2019).
