In 2018, Malta's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 4.4% compared to 2017, reaching 1,211.

Malta ranks 24th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 2.2% (from 1,185 in 2013).
