Fertility indicators

In 1991, Romania's fertility indicators decreased by 13.1% compared to 1990, reaching 1.59.

Romania ranks 17th out of 23 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 33.5% (from 2.39 in 1986).
