In 2017, Bulgaria's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 12.9% compared to 2016, reaching 8,847.

Bulgaria ranks 16th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 47.3% (from 16,781 in 2012).
