Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2024, Ireland's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 14.0% compared to 2023, reaching 8.7%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 11.2%.

Ireland ranks 18th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 2.9% (from 8.9% in 2019).
