At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2021, Netherlands's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 41.4% compared to 2020, reaching 16.4%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 16.7%.

Netherlands ranks 15th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 82.2% (from 9.0% in 2016).
