Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2024, Bulgaria's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 13.9% compared to 2023, reaching 33.8%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 47.5%.

Bulgaria ranks 18th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 44.0% (from 23.5% in 2019).
