Population structure indicators at national level

In 2009, Ireland's population structure indicators at national level increased by 2.3% compared to 2008, reaching 17.7.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 28.4.

Ireland ranks 27th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 3.8% (from 18.4 in 2004).
