Population structure indicators at national level

In 2009, Malta's population structure indicators at national level increased by 1.8% compared to 2008, reaching 22.5.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 28.4.

Malta ranks 22nd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 6.1% (from 21.2 in 2004).
